Job Summary:
We’re seeking an innovative Software Development Lead to pioneer our brain-computer interface (BCI) technology. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop cutting-edge software and data analysis algorithms for wearable hardware. You’ll work at the intersection of software engineering, bioinformatics, and neurotechnology, collaborating with a diverse team to create revolutionary BCI products. Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing software and data analysis algorithm development, both in house and with CROs
  • Working with a cross functional, interdisciplinary team to integrate hardware, software, nanoscience, data science, and regulatory to build new BCI technology
  • Develop early versions of software and firmware for wearable hardware prototypes and demos
  • Collaborating with external partners to analyze data from proof of concept experiments and develop appropriate tools for product data analysis
  • Working with regulatory personnel to ensure suitable safety and security guidelines are maintained
  • Develop strategies for software scale up and longer term management
  • Grow and manage the software division within the company
  • Work with legal counsel to grow the IP portfolio of the company.
  • Promote scientific advances in the company through peer review publication and by speaking at conferences


Qualifications:

  • Expertise in software and algorithm development for wearable hardware. BCI experience a strong plus
  • Expertise in integrating hardware, software, and data processing to develop new technologies and products
  • Knowledge of bioinformatics and data science related to biosensing
  • Familiarity with medical devices and regulations
  • Experience with industrial scaling of software and data processing
  • Experience working in early stage startup or other small companies
  • Collaboration experience with academic laboratories and CROs
  • Management experience for development projects
  • An excellent publication/patent history in bioelectronics, bioinformatics, data science, or related fields
  • An advanced degree in computer science, software engineering, bioinformatics, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • A willingness to take on high risk, high reward challenges
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
